Biography
Philippe Archambault, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Biology in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Université Laval in Quebec City and Scientific Director of the Canadian Network of Centres of Excellence, ArcticNet. His work has served as the foundation for the establishment of marine protected areas in Canada, as well as for high-level decision-making within the United Nations on environmental management. His well-established reputation as a research network leader comes from his experience leading various national and international initiatives, including the multi-sector innovation network Notre Golfe, recipient of the Étoile de Québec-Océan award, and as Chair of the Fourth World Conference on Marine Biodiversity and winner of the Support for the Organization of International Congresses competition from the Club des Ambassadeurs du Palais des congrès de Montréal and the Fonds de recherche du Québec.
